Contribution Terms
These terms apply when you plant or purchase a paid MapleWish leaf or otherwise contribute through MapleWish.
1. What you are purchasing
A paid MapleWish leaf is a digital commemorative item displayed on the MapleWish tree, subject to moderation and service availability. The amount shown at checkout is the price for that digital leaf and participation in the MapleWish direct-help model described below.
A leaf does not provide ownership of MapleWish, voting rights, an investment interest, a financial return, or improved odds in any promotional giveaway.
2. Direct-help allocation
MapleWish's current program allocation is 50% of the gross amount of each paid leaf purchase to the direct-help fund or to the active Wish identified at the time of purchase. The remainder may be used for platform operations, payment costs, administration, taxes and the continued operation of MapleWish.
Promotional giveaway prizes are funded separately by MapleWish and/or identified sponsors and are not funded from the direct-help allocation.
3. Designated Wishes
Where a purchase screen identifies a particular Wish, MapleWish will make reasonable efforts to apply the direct-help allocation to that Wish. If the Wish is completed, cancelled, becomes impossible to verify, or funds cannot reasonably be delivered as intended, MapleWish may redirect the direct-help allocation to another eligible MapleWish recipient or direct-help purpose. We will aim to disclose material redirections transparently.
4. Leaf content
You are responsible for the display name and message you submit. MapleWish may remove or edit content that is unlawful, threatening, hateful, harassing, privacy-invasive, misleading, infringing, spam, or otherwise unsafe or inappropriate for the public tree. Removing public text does not necessarily reverse a completed transaction.
5. Payments
Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Additional processor terms may apply. You authorize the amount clearly shown at checkout and are responsible for using a payment method you are authorized to use.
6. Refunds
Refunds are governed by the MapleWish Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms limits a refund or remedy required by applicable law.
7. Giveaway independence
No purchase is necessary to enter a MapleWish promotional giveaway. Purchasing a leaf does not improve a person's odds of winning. Giveaway participation is governed only by the Official Rules.
8. Changes to allocation
If MapleWish changes the direct-help allocation percentage for future purchases, the new allocation will be disclosed before checkout and will not retroactively change completed purchases.
