Story & Photo Publication Consent
1. Separate from applying
Submitting an application, uploading a private photo, or indicating that you are open to discussing a public story does not authorize publication.
2. What MapleWish will show you
Before a selected Wish is made public, MapleWish will identify the exact material it proposes to publish, which may include:
- your public display name, first name, pseudonym or anonymous label;
- the final public story or summary;
- the funding goal or milestone and general category of need;
- the specific photo or image, if any; and
- the places where the content may appear, such as the MapleWish website and MapleWish-controlled social channels.
3. Your choices
You may approve all, some or none of the proposed public material. MapleWish may ask for edits needed for accuracy, safety, privacy or clarity. If the final material changes materially after approval, MapleWish should obtain approval of the changed version before publication.
4. No promise of anonymity after publication
If you choose a pseudonym or anonymous presentation, MapleWish will avoid intentionally publishing identifying details that you did not approve. However, people who already know your circumstances may still recognize you, and public internet content can be copied, screenshotted or reshared by others.
5. Withdrawal
You may ask MapleWish to stop future use of approved public material. MapleWish will make reasonable efforts to remove the material from MapleWish-controlled pages and future promotions. We cannot guarantee removal of copies already downloaded, cached, archived, screenshotted or independently reshared by third parties.
6. Historical impact records
If you approve a public Wish, MapleWish may ask whether the approved story can remain in a historical Impact or Past Wishes section after funding. That historical use should be part of the exact publication approval.
7. No payment for publicity
Unless MapleWish specifically agrees otherwise in writing, public-story participation is not a paid endorsement and does not create employment, royalty or ownership rights.
8. Contact
Questions or withdrawal requests: use the MapleWish contact form and choose “Privacy request.”
